Well, spring is here again. For mountain bikers this is an excellent time to get out on the trails for some of the best single-track mountain biking in the nation. For those who are not aware, Grand Junction and Fruita offer a myriad of trails for every level of cross-country, free ride and downhill mountain biker. Every year, thousands of riders come from all over the U.S. to ride these excellent mountain biking trails.
In order to help those who are not familiar with Grand Junction and Fruita mountain biking I have gathered a few links to information about the many trails and campsites in the area. Click on the links below for more information about mountain biking in west central Colorado. You will find maps of trails and campgrounds as well as info about emergency services, local shops that sell and repair bicycles as well as sell accessories. You can find out the names and difficulty level of each of these different trails and you can find out which months are the best for riding are and which trails are best suited for the hot summer months. There is information about transporting bicycles to and from Grand Junction and Fruita and numbers to the different bike transportation specialists in the area.
Road cyclists will also find these links useful when planning a cycling trip to this area. YouTube has quite a few videos featuring the different trails such as Kokopelli Trail, Horse thief Trail, Lemon Squeezer Loop, The Ribbon, Zippidy-do-da, Primecut, Flight of Icarus and more. If you are planning to come and do some riding out this way, these videos are a great way to get an idea of what the different trails are like.
